A film that tells the story of a Downs Syndrome children’s football team based in West London as they train and prepare for their moment in the spotlight at an English Premier League match.
The story takes viewers into the life of Downs Syndrome families and what we find is a world filled with passion, love and emotional intelligence but also a journey focused on overcoming hardship and preconceptions as the team - led by charismatic ex-professional footballer Allan Cockram and his wife Vickie - discovers a community built around football.
Thought-provoking, myth-dispelling and highly emotional, the film has put The Brentford Penguins in the public eye, it has been longlisted for a BAFTA and Allan and the team have received a lot of media attention off the back of it's popularity, meeting the like of David Beckham, Anthony Joshua, Kier Starmer and appearing on the BBC's The One Show in the process. But the adventure is just beginning...
